Job Summary:

Ledcor's Heavy Civil and Mining division is actively seeking an Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating cost estimates and preparation of estimating packages in relation to quantity takeoffs, cost buildups, studies, budgets, subtrade solicitation, and competitive bid comparisons to support our projects.

The Estimator will use their knowledge by offering innovative perspectives on existing solutions, and exercises judgment based on the analysis of diverse information sources. This individual provides guidance for non-estimating personnel on estimating related requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Incorporates requirements from drawing specifications, terms and conditions into bid.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and reviews takeoff summaries for accuracy.
  • Solicits subcontractor and supplier pricing quotes and administers subcontractor database. Reviews and analyzes quotes, providing data to support subcontractor selection.
  • Develops the estimate under supervision, preparing direct and indirect costs.
  • Assists in the development of project schedules with input from the project team and subtrades.
  • Assists in the preparation of review documents.

Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of heavy civil project estimating experience
  • Proficient computing skills and experience with MS Office and related estimating software
  • Knowledge of BIM modeling would be an asset
  • Knowledge and practical use experience of trade-related drawings and specifications, including understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess their level of completeness
  • Knowledge of construction costs and budgets, ability to develop a project schedule
  • Experience with negotiations and resolving contractual risks as well as recommending mitigation practices
  • Excellent communication skills in various forms with the ability to adapt messages to all audiences

Compensation Range

$70,400.00 - $105,600.00
