| Duties: |
The Assistant Principal Director will serve as deputy to the Aerospace SBIRS Ground Principal Director. Primary responsibility will be working with the AF Ground Deputy Commander in providing acquisition support and evaluating program executability for the SBIRS Ground Enterprise. In addition, the selected candidate will work with the government to develop and plan for future ground software and system architectures; assist in ground mission assurance assessments, assess ground contractor development processes and metrics, support Wing process development and assessments, lead technical and business management teams, and provide support to the Principal Director in the management of the Aerospace Ground organization. |
| Qualifications: |
MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline is required. A minimum of 12 years relevant experience is required and must include significant Aerospace program office management and technical leadership on SMC programs. In addition, qualified candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- Experience in evaluating cost and schedule performance for large acquisitions
- A broad background in system and software engineering and satellite ground systems, including product and process experience in all phases of the acquisition and software systems lifecycle and an ability to develop and plan for future ground software and system architectures
- Expertise in related engineering disciplines and experience with Air Force operational systems
- Demonstrated initiative, independent action, mature judgment, outstanding verbal and written communications skills, excellent liaison and coordination capabilities, effective teaming skills, and ability to interact effectively with all levels of Aerospace, government, and contractor personnel
- Ability to travel frequently
Current secret clearance; ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance |
